In this debate, delegates will take the stance of current celebrities and politicians to debate whether celebrities should be limited in their ability to promote different political stances or whether they should be given free rein. Delegates will also be tasked to address the political divide social media algorithms put out.
This committee examines how governments and organizations should regulate large-scale music festivals to balance cultural expression, public safety, and economic impact. Using Woodstock ’99 and other historical festival disasters as case studies, delegates will analyze failures in crowd management, security, and emergency planning. Participants will represent national perspectives on international regulation, sovereignty, and tourism, and propose global policy solutions to prevent future tragedies. This committee blends global politics, ethics, and youth culture in a dynamic and highly relevant debate.
Ad Hoc is an advanced and unique crisis committee designed for delegates who are eager to debate and be surprised. This AD HOC will be an alternate timeline and historically space themed, but the details of the topic will not be revealed until moments before the conference starts.
